I Could Be There

I think my life's not going right
It's not like tv
I can't keep up with the folks next door
I'm not where I should be

Work my shift and get my pay
while others live there dreams
They've got it all and then some more
And I'm filled with blind envy

I lose my balance when I compare
I'm suspended in mid air
Thinkin' that I could be there
could be there
could be there
I could be there

Got my morning newspaper
Coffee with some cream
There it is in black and white
And dripping red as I read

Turning on the evening news
See the torment and disease
I clean my plate while the're starving there
And I'm counting my blessings

I lose my balance when I compare
I'm suspended in mid air
Thinkin' that I could be there
could be there
could be there
I could be there...
